What is an online store and why is it better than a marketplace?

What is an online store?

An online store is a website combining a product catalogue, cart, online payment, delivery and order management that sells on its own, 24/7.

An online store is a website that combines a product catalogue, a cart, online payment and order management. A customer finds the product, adds it to the cart, pays by card and picks a delivery option — all without messaging you, even at two in the morning.

Many businesses today sell through Instagram or a marketplace. That is a fine start, but it has three problems: every order is handled by hand, a commission is taken from every sale and — most importantly — the customer base is not yours. If the marketplace changes its rules or raises ad prices tomorrow, you have no say.

Your own store, by contrast, is an asset you own: customer data, sales statistics, repeat purchases and free traffic from Google. Innosoft Systems builds stores for the Uzbek market — Payme, Click and Uzum payments, courier and postal delivery, Telegram notifications and a trilingual catalogue.

In short

Advantages of an online store

Why serious retailers move to a store of their own:

  • Sells 24/7 — weekends included
  • No commission taken per sale
  • The customer base stays yours
  • Payments via Payme, Click and Uzum
  • Orders are recorded automatically
  • Stock levels visible in real time
  • Free customers from Google
  • You run promotions and discounts yourself
  • Statistics: what sells and what does not
  • Connects to Telegram and CRM

Why you need one

What an online store does for your business

A store is not a cost — it is a salesperson. Here is what it actually affects.

Sales continue while you sleep

Orders come in at night, at weekends and on holidays. Nobody waits for a staff reply — the customer pays and gets confirmation immediately.

You pay no commission

A marketplace takes a cut of every sale. In your own store only the acquiring fee remains — and the saving grows with your turnover.

The customer base is yours

Phone numbers, order history and addresses live in your system. That is the basis for repeat sales, Telegram/SMS campaigns and loyalty programmes.

Manual work disappears

Orders record themselves, stock decrements itself, receipts send themselves. Staff handle delivery instead of correspondence.

Free traffic from Google

Every product and category is its own page, ranking for queries like 'winter jacket price'. Customers arrive without ad spend.

Decisions based on numbers

Which product is viewed but not bought, which channel brings orders — statistics show it. Range and advertising are tuned accordingly.

Who orders one

Which businesses need an online store

Sectors with regular sales where handling orders by hand has become a burden.

  • 01

    Clothing and footwear

Filters by size, colour and model, a size chart and return terms — customers choose for themselves and order without asking.

  • 02

    Electronics and appliances

Detailed specifications, comparison, warranty and instalments. For buyers, complete information matters most.

  • 03

    Cosmetics, perfumery and supplements

Ingredients, certificates and reviews. Repeat purchase rates are high, so a loyalty programme pays for itself quickly.

  • 04

    Groceries and food delivery

Category catalogue, delivery time slots, minimum order value and fast repeat ordering.

  • 05

    Furniture, building materials and equipment

A large catalogue, a pricing calculator, made-to-measure orders and an installation service.

  • 06

    B2B and wholesale

A dealer portal with individual price lists, invoices and 1C integration.

Process

How an online store is built

Six stages — you see and approve the result at the end of each.

  1. 013–5 days

    Analysis and catalogue structure

We map the range, categories, filters and product attributes, and define the purchase path from cart to payment.

  2. 027–12 days

    Design

Home page, catalogue, product card and cart are drawn in Figma, with the purchase path kept as short as possible.

  3. 0315–25 days

    Development

We build the catalogue, cart, checkout and admin panel, and connect payment systems and delivery.

  4. 043–7 days

    Product upload

Products are migrated from Excel or 1C, images optimised and category copy written.

  5. 052–4 days

    Test payments

Payment, refund and delivery flows are tested with real transactions, across every device and browser.

  6. 061–2 days

    Launch

We connect the domain, configure analytics and e-commerce tracking and submit the store for indexing, then train your team.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions we hear most about online stores.

Our pricing starts at 15,000,000 UZS — a fully working store: catalogue, cart, admin panel, Payme and Click payments, delivery configuration and three languages. The full version with bespoke design, stock control, a loyalty programme and 1C integration costs 30,000,000 UZS. For a marketplace, a B2B portal or a mobile app the price is agreed per project.

Yes, the setup and testing work is included. The payment provider charges its own acquiring fee (usually a few percent per transaction), paid directly under your contract with Payme or Click. We help you arrange that contract.

Yes, an admin panel is included in both main plans. You add products, prices, images, categories and stock, and see orders in the panel. For a large range we add bulk import from Excel or 1C.

They complement rather than replace each other. A marketplace is good for a fast start, but it takes a commission on every sale and the customer base is not yours. Your own store is an asset you own: repeat sales, free Google traffic and your own rules. Many of our clients run both channels together.

The Start plan is delivered in 20–30 working days and the Business plan in 40–60 working days. Timing also depends on the size of your range and how ready your product data is (photos, descriptions, specifications).

The store ships search-ready: every product and category has its own URL, with correct meta tags, Schema.org product markup (price, availability, rating), a sitemap and speed optimisation. That is the basis for Google Shopping and organic results. Ranking for competitive queries takes ongoing SEO work, which we run as a separate service.

Yes. The base plan configures delivery methods, zones and pricing. The Business plan adds courier service integration and status tracking, so customers can see where their order is.

Yes, the Business and Enterprise plans include 1C synchronisation: products, prices and stock update automatically and orders flow into 1C. That removes manual entry entirely.

Yes. The store is built on an API, so a mobile app (iOS/Android) sits on top of the existing system with a single product and order database. We build mobile apps too.
